Icy Roost

I took this when the pond was frozen in January. I thought she was frozen into the ice but as I got closer, she moved away.

Stacks

I grabbed a picture of this big building by the airport as we drove by. There was no sign but those two silver stacks caught my attention.

Homes On The Golf Course

I wonder how many broken windows they have to fix.
That is Granite Mountain in the background.

Tobacco Salesman

This is Bill Woods, a tobacco salesman who came to the store owned by my husbands grandparents.
This picture was taken outside the store in 1923.
The sign says "I'd walk a mile for a Camel".

Rustic Pie Co.

This building has been used for several businesses over the years. The picture above shows what it looks like now with a coffee shop and a salon and spa. The picture below shows what it looked like in 1920 when it was a grocery store owned by by husbands grandparents.

Threatening Sky

There is a wild donkey on the hill on the left under a crazy cloud filled sky.
I used Photoshop Elements equalize filter on this which gave an almost metallic look to the picture.

Shirt Shopping

Man At Leisure is the name of one of the stores at Bashford Courts in downtown Prescott.
This shirt made me smile but my husband wouldn't wear it so I left it there.

Founder

The Henry Wickenburg sculpture, by artist Clyde Ross Morgan, is at the Wickenburg town hall.
Henry Wickenburg was a gold miner who discovered the Vulture Mine and founding father of the town that was named for him. Over $30 million in gold has been dug from the ground at the Vulture Mine.

Sign

I have no idea what this sign is about but it must have been important as it is set into the wall of a large building in Wickenburg.

Update: Captain Canada is a comic book superhero who was created by Geoff Stirling, a Canadian who resides in Wickenburg Arizona.

Hassayampa Building

The life size bronze statue of Elizabeth Smith, the original owner of the Hassayampa Hotel in Wickenburg,  by artisit J. Seward Johnson, waves to all who pass by the corner. She was said to be the best cook for miles around. People traveled all the way from Phoenix in the 1800's to eat at her restaurant. That would have been a long trip by horseback or stage.

Pretty In Pink

She was too busy to stop to pose, so I snapped her on the run.
