You can't miss the Bootmaker's doorway in the alley with all that Arizona color.

Lucy

We met Lucy while out for a walk. Our King Charles Spaniel fell in love with her. She was not as excited about him.  Her owner found her at a rescue group also but not the same group that we found ours at.

I showed the outside yesterday so today I have the  inside of The Mill Restaurant in Crown King.

The Mill

On our recent road trip with friends, we had lunch in this restaurant in Crown King. The food was good and plentiful and the place was... rustic.

Jerome Fire Station In Summer

I'm not sure what makes this building so attractive to me but I like the looks of it.

Patriotic Decorations

Once a church, The Chapel Inn is now a lovely place for a weekly or monthly stay in the heart of Prescott.

Tarantula Hawk

A tarantula hawk is a kind of wasp that hunts tarantulas for food for their larvae. These were feeding on weed flowers which I think are pretty even if they are weeds.  The female wasp stings and paralyzes the tarantula and drags it to a nest where she lays one egg on the abdomen of the tarantula. When the egg hatches the wasp larvae enters the spider's abdomen and feeds on the live tarantula avoiding the vital organs to keep the spider alive as long as possible. Yes, these are the things that nightmares are made of.

Turkey Vulture

I have been trying to get a close up of one of these birds for a while now. This one isn't as sharp as I had hoped but you can get an idea for the 'beauty' of the turkey vulture. When you see them flying they look so graceful and even elegant.  I'm not sure I would use that description for the close up.
This is what they look like flying.

Curious Colt

This young fellow was interested in everything going on around him.
There were no other young ones to play with so he was making his own fun.

This large rock house caught my eye. It's on the outskirts of Prescott Valley.

All Grown Up

Those baby ducklings that I posted a picture of back in June are now all grown up but I could tell it was them because all twelve were still swimming together in tight formation.

Horse Ranch

I have driven by this ranch many times and I think it is a beautiful place. The last time I was out that way I stopped to take the picture of the gates and I could just barely see this person with a horse way back by the white tank in the first picture. I used my telephoto lens to see if I could get them.

Rocks

Painted by nature, the reddish swirls on these rocks can sometimes look like pictures. I see a dog sitting up and begging just to the left of center. What do you see?

Another Street Light

This is a street light at Cameron Trading Post in Northern Arizona.  The bridge is the oldest suspension bridge in Arizona, built in 1911, it crosses the Little Colorado River. It was replaced in 1959 and was sold to Four Corners Pipeline Company and now carries a natural gas pipeline. The bridge is on the National Register Of Historic Places.
