Chief Joseph

Out in front of the Phippen Art Museum in Prescott stands this impressive sculpture.
The inscription reads
"From where the sun now stands I will fight no more forever"

Most of the trees are bare by now but there are still some showing off their fall color.

Funny

This just made me laugh. Did you ever see those plastic, moving owls to scare away the pigeons?
I saw this on on top of a business and thought it was pretty funny. I think they like it.

Dramatic Sculpture

A dramatic sculpture stands in the middle of the small town of Reserve, New Mexico.
The man depicted is Elfego Baca, a lawman, who became famous after the "Frisco Shootout".

The story is told on the plaque below.  Click on the picture to make it bigger.

If you are interested and can't read the plaque pictured here, you can find several web sites using his name or by using Frisco Shootout.

Mural

This is the building with the window I posted yesterday. It's an antique store in a small town just 12 miles over the Arizona/New Mexico border. The town's name is Reserve and it is not on a main highway. Reserve has a population of about 289 people and is situated in the Gila National Forest.

This is the front of the building.
More tomorrow about what we saw in Reserve.

Changes

While downtown Sunday I was surprised to see that the Christmas tree was up already.

I took this one the last time I was there just a couple weeks ago.

Baseballs

Big baseballs decorate the ball parks at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley.

And lets not ignore the big soccer balls at the entrance to the soccer field.  I took these a few weeks ago. The trees are not that green anymore.

On The Bright Angel Trail

One of the tunnels on the trail and a little natural window to the right.

People climb up into that little window.
Sometimes they get their picture taken by me.
