From the looks of the hat I'd expect to see holes in the soles of his boots but, they are looking pretty good. That hat looks like its seen a lot of use.
This is the type of photo that Jilly of Monte Carlo Daily Photo would take, but, oh, what a difference between the type of people and hats on the Riviera and what you see in rural and small town Arizona.
I saw this guy at a mule show and thought his hat looked well worn and different.
