News Worthy Wall
I came across this unique wall behind a business in downtown Prescott. The wall is made with the tin that was once used in making our town newspaper. These were from 1963 and 1964.
Lyndon Johnson was president and this baby which was the first Prescott birth of the new year would now be 48 years old. It was fun to read all the news from back then.

Fire On Whiskey Row
This is all that is left of the famous Bird Cage Saloon on Whiskey Row after a fire broke out Tuesday evening and burned three businesses. (See yesterday's post for a wider shot of the fronts of the buildings.)
I took this picture from the top of the parking garage behind the burned buildings. You can see the fireman looking out the window into the charred remains. Besides the Bird Cage Saloon, Bare Bones BBQ and the Food Store all sustained extensive damage.

Breaking News.......Fire
This was the scene this morning after last nights fire laid waste to three businesses on Whiskey Row. Bare Bones BBQ, Prescott Food Store and the famous Bird Cage Saloon are all gutted. You can't see much damage from the front until you look in the doors. I will post some more pictures tomorrow.

I Am A Tree......
I have been here for longer than you can remember......
You may have been one of the many children who have climbed up my limbs ......
Countless birds have been born in the nests that decorate my branches...
My bark is gnarled and scarred....
I have survived floods and drought, cold and heat.....
I am old...I am beautiful....
Come...shelter in the coolness of my shade.
This is the old cottonwood tree on the ball field at Prescott Mile High Middle School which used to be the High school.
