It is interesting how some "decay" is so much more attractive than other decay. This is in the attractive category. Almost looks like an old fort. In Florida, this would have been overgrown with vines and weeds and bushes in about 2 months! :)
The colours in these rocks is exquisite, Judy. Puts me in mind of Robert Frost's 'Mending Wall'. I guess heat and wind will crack even the strongest of walls.
that is really neat...how old is it?
ReplyDeleteI like the angle on this and the lovely honey-coloured stone.
ReplyDeleteWonderful find, I'm intrigued to find out what it might've been once... Serene and peaceful capture.
ReplyDeleteMarvellous.
ReplyDeleteso much effort went into building this for it now to sit and go too waste
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool! I'd love to explore it!
ReplyDeleteThe stonework on the wall around the window actually looks much cleaner than the foundations - are they of different ages?
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your Grand Canyon images! This one looks interesting. Bet there is a nice view from there.
ReplyDeleteAlways intrigue me to imagine how these structures were at their time before collapsing into a pile of stones. Nice Image!
ReplyDeleteThis decay looks positively historical.
ReplyDeleteNorthern Arizona is rich with ancient buildings and structures. It is so much easier to find them than down here. This one is quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeauty to preserve.
