The sepia photo looks like a postcard from the '40s. So what does Dave think that is on the post? Lowell calls it an outside urinal. We called them an outhouse. I actually remember when one set of my grandparents had one before my grandpa enclosed the back porch and built a modern bathroom! Even a few days ago when we had a couple inches of snow my mom mentioned something about who are we to gripe and complain about a little cold weather when all she ever knew prior to getting married was an outhouse!
I would choose the one in color mostly because of the ghost signs. I hope this place will stay like this as long as possible.
ReplyDeleteI bet that car has a rumble seat. If you don't know what it is Google it. (:-0)
ReplyDeleteThe tone and shade of the top photo gives it an ancient-age look. Like it!
ReplyDeleteIs that what I think it is on the post on the far right of the photo?
ReplyDeleteThe top one looks like photos my dad and mom took on their trips! Love the sepia! And that's a very cool place...even has an outside urinal!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought that top one really was a historic photo!
ReplyDeleteYou did some great work here. Good demonstration on what we can all learn to achieve. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteCute little outhouse. Wonder if its up and running!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you pick up 66 . . at Seligman?
ReplyDeleteBruce, We get on 66 at Seligman. You can go all the way to Kingman.
