This makes me think of a painting I saw yesterday at the Celebration of Art in Scottsdale. It was of an old Mobile station with the red flying horse. For some reason it made me think of dad.
And the new gas stations on the Interstate are just not the same. Actually, the opposite is part of the problem. The new gas stations all seem the same.
I enjoy seeing and hearing about everything re the old hwy 66!

ReplyDeleteThe "76" really stands out and I love it. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe drove Route 66 a number of times...wonder if I ever stopped here?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't take long for a place like this to deteriorate when not in use.
And now it's an iconic symbol of another time and place which I think was simpler and less stressful.
Looks like it's bee like that some time
ReplyDeleteIs this Seligman? Love the 76 sign.
