  1. The artist was thinking outside of the box by having the eagle perched on the rail.

  2. The eagle may be reflecting on the fact that there was much better train service in the 1800's than today.

  3. Impressive sculpture and the connectng of the rail lines was, indeed, promoted a huge change across the entire country. Nothing would ever be the same again - especially for Native Americans.
