Jail Tree

If you think Sheriff Joe's tent city would be a bad place to have to spend some time, just think how bad it would have been to get arrested in Wickenburg back in the late 1800's. They didn't have a jail so they chained them to a tree as depicted in this public sculpture.

    I guess the idea is "Don't be wicked in Wickenburg!" Ouch.

    Thanks for your nice comment today. And yes, some of those girl riders can't be more than 11-12 years of age. But they are good.

    That might well be worse than being in a jail cell. Out in the elements, having freedom staring you right in the face and not being able to touch it.
