As a dog lover, I always enjoy this kind of photo, but your title made me catch my breath. John Updike, the novelist, wrote a heart=wrenching poem that ended with the two words, "good dog." I would publish it here except it probably is too sad. Google "Death of a Dog" by Updike and read it.
