Elvis

I'm pretty sure I saw this same statue in Jerome but this one is outside a restaurant in Williams. I like the black and white trim against the red brick building.

  2. He certainly was and continues to be a very popular man; too bad his life went the way it did!

  3. You're right. There's a similar one (if not identical) in the old theater in Jerome! I had the pleasure of watching Elvis perform when I was about 10 years old at the Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport, LA, before he became a national superstar.

  4. When my son was about 9 he asked me how Elvis died. I said he got rich, bored, took drugs and that killed him.

The following day my son said "Dad, if I get rich I won't get bored and take drugs like that Elvis guy." I asked him what he would do.

    He replied, "I'd get cable."

With that comment, I decided to subscribe to cable.

  6. There is a similar statue at the Comfort Inn in Tupelo, Mississippi. I'd guess there are similar statues all over Mississippi and in other states.

    Don't understand why.
