Wild Creatures Of The Forest
During walk in the forest just south of the Grand Canyon after a downpour, I came upon four young bull elk grazing peacefully in a small clearing under a dark grey sky.
They looked at me and I stopped and sat down on a big rock to watch them.
Unconcerned, they went back to the business of mowing the grass.
After taking a few quick pictures, I continued my walk filled with a sense of wonderment.
That's pretty amazing! I can't imagine getting so close to an elk...the ones in Colorado are easily spooked. Maybe these aren't hunted?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful animal. You were given a gift for sure!

ReplyDeleteCompared to the common deer, elk are a rare and magnificent sight.
