While all the trees are now bare, this willow tree is still holding on even with freezing night temperatures . I posted this tree back in
February because it was all leafed out so early in the year and here it is now ten months later. There must be something about this spot because the grass is still green under it too.

It looks like a water run off ditch close to the tree. Willows like to be close to water. That could explain the green.
It's nice to see a blooming tree during the winter season.

Trees with leaves keep the ground warm enough to keep the grass green. For example, if you look at our front yard now, it's pretty much "brown," but we have no trees. If you drive down the street where to home where trees cover the grass, it's still green and will remain so through the winter.
That's a very cool weeping willow!
Well protected from the wind too perhaps.
It's a beautiful tree.
I think this tree is quite happy with it's location.
We had a willow on the property where I grew up, so I've always had a fondness for them. This one looks in good shape!
Beautiful tree.
It is a strong, tenacious tree!
