This spot off of the Peavine Trail is a quiet place for a rest about a mile from the south trail head.
The spot was chosen for a memorial to a young runner who lost her life crossing highway 69 in 2007. I remember frequently seeing her running along the edge of the highway.

That is a very beautiful spot and a wonderful place for that memorial.
It's a very beautiful place - looks so serene and peaceful. But such a sad memorial.
Re your comment: It is a Manatee with a hat and is located at the Manatee Springs State Park. These two saw something interesting going on along the canal/river but I never could figure out what it was! :)

This is truly a spot for great reflection.
Beautiful terrain.
Love the way you composed the top photo. I'd love to be able to plop myself under that tree with a good book.
Beautiful spot for a memorial.
The colors are meeting so beautifully at the time you went.
What a lovely spot for remembering Jessica.
A sad end for a young person.
