The Cowboys #2

As promised, here is the close up pictures of two of the cowboys who perform an old west skit for the people waiting to board the train to the Grand Canyon in Williams.

The reason I like Williams Arizona is because there is always something unusual to see. Like these cowboys riding down one of the main streets and stopping at the stop sign. (There are no traffic lights in the town of Williams)

It's B.J.

The name of the store has changed but B.J., the big cowboy is still standing on Fair Street.
He now seems to have some cards in his hand, so I think the new store must sell games.

Howdy Pardner

Those of you that have been following this blog for a few years or live in the Prescott area will recognize this guy. Everyone else will have to wait for tomorrow's post.

Back Cover

This picture was on the back cover of the February 1960 issue of the Arizona Highways magazine. It was taken in Dewey Arizona at a the rodeo by photographer Mel Compton. The cowboy, bending over in the leather chaps, is getting his bareback rigging ready to ride that black bronc that is standing in the chute. And by the way, he is also my husband! Too bad all you can see is his rear end.
