RELISH ME

Meet "Cookout Kelly" and "Abe the Ham"!
They drive the "Relish Me" Wienermobile.  That must be a fun job to have.
I got a comment from Kelly, on my Wienermobile picture that I posted on Saturday, inviting me to come take a look inside! What a treat that was. As you can see from the picture below, the inside of the Wienermobile is roomy and bright. It even has a "bun roof". It has six seats, a big flat screen TV and a sound system with speakers inside and out.  Guess what song they play!
Thanks Kelly and Sam, you guys were great to let us have a peek inside.

The Wienermobile has been around for 76 years.
Below is a picture of the first Wienermobile from back in 1936. Not as comfy as the new one.

Do you need a ladder to get in?

It looks like they have the right upbeat personality for their job. When they move on to something else, I wonder how long it will take to get that song out of their head.

Did they give out Winnie whistles?

Yes, Randy, they gave out whistles. We got two! They also sent an email picture of us with the Wiener mobile.

1936? I should remember that, but I was kinda young!

How very cool! Driving it around is probably not a career move (or maybe it is!) but sure does look like lots of fun. I mean how can you not like this thing. That was very nice you got a chance to get inside and meet the kids.

Do you remember the old joke about the guy who found a bottle on a beach near Malibu with a genie inside. The genie popped out of the bottle, congratulated him and said he had 3 wishes - anything he wanted he could have.

The guy was so excited. He said, "OK, I wish for a brand new Cadillac convertible" and presto! there appeared a brand new Cadillac convertible.

"Wow!" he said. "OK, I wish for a gorgeous 20-year old blonde who is very smart," and presto! there appeared just that.

"OK," he said, "I'm going to wait with my third wish." He asked the blonde if she wanted to go for a ride in his new car. She agreed, enthusiastically.

So, they jumped in the car and were gliding down the highway near Malibu in his new Cadillac with his arm around the gorgeous blonde. All was well with the world. He reached over and turned on the radio. A commercial was playing and without thinking he began singing along: "Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener!"

End of story. The blonde didn't like Oscar Meyer wieners!

Oh, Judy, you scooped me. I saw the car in P.V. yesterday and thought about going back to photograph but I didn't. I'm glad you did.

Isn't is amazing how things work out? That looks like quite the ride and a huge step up from the 1936 model. Winnie whistles - what fun!

How thoughtful of Kelly to invite you to photograph the inside. A pretty slick mobile!
