Not A Dog

While driving in Prescott Valley on Tuesday, I saw what I thought was a stray dog, as I got closer I realized it was not a dog, it was a coyote out hunting in town in daylight. Keep your cats in the house!

I don't know what kind of mushrooms these are so I left them out in the forest where I found them. 

You can't tell from the picture but they were huge!

New Life

This is a baby Mockingbird on it's first day out of the nest. The parents were close by and making some noise to warn either me or the baby, but it stayed put and let me get a few pictures. It looks a little too young to be out in the world.

I found this fancy, old Bell System "man hole cover" by the police station in Prescott. 

I wonder what the politically correct name for this lid is now.  

Choppers

 I counted sixteen helicopters flying over my house on Saturday. There were 7 flying together in the first group and they were loud. Then came 5 and about an hour or so later 4 more, all going in the same direction.
