On the road to Stanton and Octave you pass the Parker Dairy Farm's faded cow sign.
This is the farm that can be seen from the look out point on Yarnell hill as seen in this picture on the left.
We haven't seen any cows there for quite a long time.

The land doesn't look like it could support grazing. I used to say the same thing when watching John Wayne western movies.

Unable to support a dairy operation, I guess the land does not have an economically viable use.
As a former Wisconsin girl, it never occurred to me that Arizona would have a dairy farm. As others have pointed out, perhaps the land cannot support grazing.
I used to see that plot of land every time I drove down Yarnell hill.
Those cows in the first shot need a little TLC.
I bet flourishing dairy farms need lots of water, and I don't see a whole lot in these photos.
This was claimed to be the largest dairy in Arizona. They filed for bankruptcy in Nov 2011.
