Guard Duty

This pretty male oriole likes to hide in the lilac bush and wait for other birds to come to the hummingbird feeder and then jump out at them and scare them away.
I guess he thinks it belongs to him alone. Sure is fun to watch but I thwarted his attempts by adding
another feeder.

This is the beautiful Mother's Day card I received from my son and daughter-in-law.
What makes this more special is that my daughter-in-law makes these cards herself!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Very nice photos of the oriole!

How nice to have such a creative daughter!

That male bird is beautiful, but like so many colourful male animals in the kingdom, he's too full of himself. And, aren't you clever to thwart his terrritorial efforts. Your daughter-in-law is very clever!! And creative!! I'd like to be able to do that, too, but patience is not one of my many virtues! Have a great day!

Good plan to add another feeder to the mix. My daughter and I make cards but nothing as fancy as this.

Wonderfully hidden and photographed. Love the nice green colors.

I'm not sure I've ever seen an oriole. They're rare around our feeders. That box/card is wonderful. Since your DIL makes them, you must have a wonderful collection.

Now that I think about it, it's been years since I last saw/heard an oriole. A shame as they are so colourful.
