Is this just an identifying marker or a memorial of some sort? Does it represent a kiva, I wonder?

I have been to Grand Canyon Village and he east end of the Canyon, but not to the west end. Thank you for showing us.

I'm ashamed! My knowledge in native american history is so limited! I didn't know the Hualapai people are actually who live in the Grand Canyon...

Fascinating. I like the way the sculpture has used native materials to blend in with the surrounding scenery...

Interesting, too, how so many of our human cultures celebrate "warriors."

Why not the intellectuals - the dreamers, the builders, the educators ... ?

Kate, I should have explained about what this is. It is a monument to one of the tribe members who assisted in tracking Geronimo.
