Photographing All Of Yavapai County In Central Arizona And Beyond
Is this just an identifying marker or a memorial of some sort? Does it represent a kiva, I wonder?
Not a bad place to call home!
I have been to Grand Canyon Village and he east end of the Canyon, but not to the west end. Thank you for showing us.
A beautiful marker for a beautiful land!
I'm ashamed! My knowledge in native american history is so limited! I didn't know the Hualapai people are actually who live in the Grand Canyon...
I like the name and the symbol. Magnificent place to call home!
Lovely shot with the canyon in the background and the beautiful blue sky above.
Fascinating. I like the way the sculpture has used native materials to blend in with the surrounding scenery...Interesting, too, how so many of our human cultures celebrate "warriors."Why not the intellectuals - the dreamers, the builders, the educators ... ?
Kate, I should have explained about what this is. It is a monument to one of the tribe members who assisted in tracking Geronimo.
