From the looks of the hat I'd expect to see holes in the soles of his boots but, they are looking pretty good. That hat looks like its seen a lot of use.
This is the type of photo that Jilly of Monte Carlo Daily Photo would take, but, oh, what a difference between the type of people and hats on the Riviera and what you see in rural and small town Arizona.

I love this shot! Dave put you on to me - I love taking people shots too. He's right, different sort of hat to what you'd find in Menton...
People who attend mule shows are probably real characters! I love these types of people shots and wish I had more nerve in attempting to get them.
I laughed out loud when I saw this picture. The cigar just completes the image.
LOL! he looks just like "Snuffy Smith" - remember him? :-)http://bit.ly/l1kx4L
I left another comment on Jilly's site to clear up my confusion in the comment I left earlier. My mind and my fingers were not in sync.
I am glad that Jilly liked your photo. I knew that she would.
Wonderful! I reckon this ol' boy is durn typical of them thar cowpokes moseying about Prescott and environs...y'all should frame this un.
Now what the heck is a "mule show"?
I think that he looks a little well-worn and different, too. Great candid portrait..it's a keeper.
What a great capture, Judy!
