The Healing Field...Prescott Valley

Three Thousand Flags, each with the name of a person who lost their life on this day in 2001 move in the breeze under a grey and rainy sky.

Some with boots beneath the flag.
Some with teddy bears for the children.

On the evening we visited, just after sunset, a lone bagpiper was playing.
It was a very touching scene.

This is a very sobering scene, and, as you say, very touching. It is a painful reminder of grief and tragedy, so overwhelming!

Normally one would think that Prescott does not have a lot of connection to New York City. You have disproved that.

Reminds me of one that I once saw in Tempe.

Yes matching the one in Tempe, Randy is right,
Always so moving.

Dramatic and very concrete - it is easy to imagine a person in place of the flag, and it is heartbreaking.
