Octave Mine

Just at the foot of Yarnell Hill is a gravel road that takes you to the Octave Mine.  There was once a town called Octave here but now there isn't much left of the old town.

There are several gold mines in this area and some are still being worked.
The Octave Mine was recently featured on the television show
"Ghost Mine". It seems the mine owner would like to get the crew that is working the mine in Baker, Oregon to come and work the Octave in the winter months.

Is the old builing part of the old town, I'd have been sniffing round for remains

It would be interesting to know how it got its name.

The area looks quite stark.

I enjoy visiting these old mine towns and try to imagine what life was like then I'm also wondering about the name of this town.

Octave must feel proud and good.
