Stanton

Only a few miles from the Octave Mine that I featured yesterday is the tiny town of Stanton, Arizona. Once a bustling gold mining town, the old buildings are now surrounded by an RV park. If you go into the office and sign a release, you can wander around the old buildings and take pictures.

A few people asked how the Octave mine got it's name. The only thing I found on the name said that there were eight partners who owned the mine which is why they named it Octave.

Cool old building, love the lttle bit of history showed on the sign

How sad the richest man in Arizona was shot here. I like the idea that if you sign a release you can take photo there...instead of the owners posting "no trespassing' signs.

I guess it will remain a mystery.
