The bears at Bearizona were having their mid day nap when we drove through. They were quite close to the road and looked like they were well cared for and happy.
They have dens to go into and trees to climb and logs to explore.
This one was using some logs for a pillow and for scratching his head.
The road takes you right through their area and they could walk right up to your car if they wanted to. We were there at mid day which is a sleepy time for bears so they weren't interested in us.

That or those are very big bears. I would not like to come close to them on foot or on a bike. Maybe in a car but it must be scary.
Such beautiful, big animals. I love how shiny the coat is on that last bear.
I would not want to be riding through there in a car with food inside during a time that the bears are active.
I might get a little tense if one of those things started walking up to my car! They're big!
Saw on HGTV last night that 98% of the U.S. brown bears live in Alaska. I didn't know that!
The first one does look content and happy. I think he has a smile on his face.
Wonderful shots.
It's always fun to get close to these animals, but wise to stay somewhere very, very safe. Great photos.
