We always have to make a stop at the mule barn at the Grand Canyon when we visit. 60 years ago my husband tried his hand at working there. He was the guy that took the tourists into the canyon on the mules. He did that one summer when he was 18 years old.

The behind-the-scenes photos makes it all seem real. Enjpy the canyon photos.
After a strong wind and rain storm our electricity just came on after what seemed like days but was just a 24-hour hiatus. Would hate to live without it.
What a cool summer job! I loved seeing a couple shots in the barn and of course that photo of the mule ride is spectacular.
I didn't know that! That must have been an interesting summer job.
It looks like an impressive barn!
That is one big barn.
How nice to see what is behind the scene.
Would have loved to go down with the mules. We had made reservations one year but I broke a leg or something and I had to cancel...
I love the second photo very much.
I remember the mule train down to the bottom, but I didn't go. Nah. Not for me. But I never thought about a mule barn or the need for such. You gotta have a barn if you've got mules, right?
Very interesting. And kudos to your husband. I can't imagine doing what he did at any age, but then I don't like heights. Haven't liked heights no matter what age I was or am! :)
