For all of the resentment of the federal government that seems to be common in rural America, people are perhaps overlooking the fact that it was the Rural Electrification Administration -- a federal New Deal program -- that brought electricity to many parts of rural America. The private sector would not do so, as there was not enough profit in it.

A very fine composition, Judy! Where would we be if we weren't "wired"?

Re Dave's comment: This is so true. I've talked to people who rant against the federal government while at the same time they are receiving Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran's Administration assistance, and all the many other "gifts" of government of which we take advantage every day.

Strange!

I love the way the fence seem to roll along the hilly terrain.

Same observation as Sharon. Would you happen to know the "singing wire" of Lucky Luke??:-) It was my way of discovering America when growing up in France.
