I waited a good fifteen minutes for the person casting that shadow to leave so that I could get this shot with the canyon in the background, but she was so enamored by the cowboy that she just stayed there admiring him. So I took my shot and went on my way.

I like both of these, but the first one is a classic "cowboy" picture. Well done!!!
I've done the same thing, waiting and waiting and finally giving up. When I was in London, I actually asked a guy to move. He was only a few feet away from me and looked right at me with camera in hand but just kept standing there. Finally, I just asked if he would mind moving a few feet. He said "oh, sorry" and moved away.
He looks like he stepped right out of the 19th century.
Thanks for the info on El Tovar...very interesting. Is it strange re the name change.
A great poser, though.
