Lovely Spot

This spot off of the Peavine Trail is a quiet place for a rest about a mile from the south trail head.

The spot was chosen for a memorial to a young runner who lost her life crossing highway 69 in 2007. I remember frequently seeing her running along the edge of the highway.

Smoke Damage

This is where the fire departments do their training exercises.
It's near the Peavine trail in Prescott and I have featured it before here.
On this day I noticed something and zoomed in to get a closer shot.

That guy doesn't look like he's in very good shape.

It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it.

Stopping Again?

A walk on the Peavine trail usually includes some stopping for picture taking.

On The Bright Angel Trail

One of the tunnels on the trail and a little natural window to the right.

People climb up into that little window.
Sometimes they get their picture taken by me.

Rain Brings Big Mushrooms

I don't know what kind it is so I didn't touch it.

Trails And Warnings

Sometimes there are warning signs in the parks and along the trails that remind us of how close to nature we are.
This is the Peavine Trail that runs along the east side of Watson Lake in Prescott. The mountain lion warning sign was at the junction with the Iron King Trail that connects Prescott and Prescott Valley, part of the rails to trails project.

Trail Sign

If you stay at the Creekside Lodge you might want to take a hike. Be sure to read the warning sign first.

The last picture is the scene in back of the main building at the lodge that I have been featuring this week.
