Tobacco Salesman

This is Bill Woods, a tobacco salesman who came to the store owned by my husbands grandparents.
This picture was taken outside the store in 1923.
The sign says "I'd walk a mile for a Camel".

Great photo. You have a well documented archive to know the person and year of such photos. I don't even know who most of the people are in the few old family photos that I have.

This is great. With that hair line and those ears, at first I thought it was our grandfather. But he wouldn't sell Camel's but he might sell Prince Albert in a can.

What a treasure and I'm happily surprised that you have information about the man and his business. I've got some old photos but have no clue re the people ... :-)

The slogan, "I'd walk a mile for a Camel" was around for many years.
