I don't know about the USA but in Canada calabooses are not used on trains any more. They have become collectors items.

The word is often a sign of memories and of fun pictures depicting the past at least for me...

I remember cabooses mainly from the model railroad sets we had a s a child. I wonder if kids still play with model trains.

Chet has ridden in these. I only got to visit in one with the trainmen.

I don't think I've had a good view of a caboose in ages. I'd love to see the inside one day.

This lovely reminder of the past looks kinda faded and tired. Is it possible it's still in use. I know some old cabooses are being retrofitted as cafes which I think is a good thing.

Now I've got to get my caboose in gear and do some yard work! Thanks for the reminder! :)

Andy is right. So this is cool picture have. .

Our Caboose is sitting on a piece of land for show and tell in Haliburton. You can key it in.

Haliburton's caboose.

Matter a fact all the train tracks are not in use. It is snowmobile's trials and then four wheeler's in summer. All dirt paths.

So we don't have to worry for miles or towns close after us for trains anymore. And the traffic there has too obey the cars from driveways or they get a fine.

A REAL caboose. How I loved watching for them as a kid!

I remember them from my childhood, too.

It could use a paint job.

Sadly, none of our major railways in Canada use cabooses any more.
