The main reason for our recent drive to Clarkdale, Arizona was because we found this old picture from 1927 and wanted to see if we could find these houses. It looks like the houses had just been built when this picture was taken.
As you can see, the area looks different in this picture but these houses are still in use and look much the same as they did 87 years ago.

How fun to find the location today of the old photo. I bet the people who live in those houses would be fascinated to look at the old photo.
This is one time when looking back is fun.
It's interesting: there is so much resemblance, yet at the same time so many things have changed.

What a great comparison! The street has a bit of a rural look to it.
What a great experience you had, motivated by a postcard. Have you noticed that postcards are getting harder and harder to find? I love sending them when I'm away from home.
There they were and there they are! Fun times. Wouldn't it be interesting to know who lived in these houses and if they've stayed in the original families, and what has become of the people?
Love this post!
I have always liked Clarkdale. It seems so quiet and peaceful.
They are still cute homes.
This was a fun project. The neighborhood certainly looks more hospitable with the trees and shrubbery.
