The Verde Canyon Wilderness Railroad leaves from Clarkdale and takes passengers through some beautiful scenery to the old depot at Perkinsville where it turns around and returns to Clarkdale. A few years ago we took this trip and I posted a series of pictures from the train. You can see the first one of those posts by clicking

One more thing to put on The List! To celebrate yesterday's veto for example...
I am enjoying your series on Clarkdale. My daughter-in-law is from there and her family still lives there.
This is a good way to see and appreciate the area.
Great photo of this train. It's a lot longer than I would have imagined.
That would be a fun tour.
That is a nice train ride. SWMBO and I took it some years ago and, yes, we did see eagles.
Well, it's not the Chattanooga Choo Choo, but it's certainly a nice-looking train. I've not been on a train since a child. I'd love to take that ride but since that ain't gonna happen, I'll be happy to ride along with you!
What is it about trains that makes us all want to climb aboard? I'd love to see the scenery there by train.
We'll be doing the Verde Canyon Train for the first time on our next trip to AZ (in a few weeks!) Looking forward to another perspective of that beautiful area.
