Lovely Spot
This spot off of the Peavine Trail is a quiet place for a rest about a mile from the south trail head.
The spot was chosen for a memorial to a young runner who lost her life crossing highway 69 in 2007. I remember frequently seeing her running along the edge of the highway.

Papa's
The last time I posted a picture of this place it was called The American Jazz Grill. Now it has a new name, Papa's Uptown. If I ever get in to try it out, I'll let you know.

Precariously Positioned
Homes in Jerome are precariously positioned on the side of the mountain.
They have stunning views but it isn't where I would want to be in an earthquake.

Colter Hall
Completed in 1937, Colter Hall was designed by Mary Colter and built as the women's dormitory for park employees. The natural beauty of the native stone building is a striking example of her work.

The Traveling Vietnam Wall
We went to see the Traveling Vietnam Wall yesterday, a rainy, cool Thursday.
We were there just after they finished setting it up.
There were lots of people there already.
Channel 12 news was there doing interviews.
The wall will be there for four days.
I think most everyone around my age knows someone who's name is on that wall.

Skate Park Curves
The skate park in Prescott Valley has some nice curvy lines. Kids use skateboards, roller blades, scooters and bicycles to do all kinds of trick riding. Some are very good at it.
Here is one young guy suspended in mid air as he turned at the top of a curve. I have no idea what you call this move but "hang ten" comes to mind or maybe "air time".

Mural Wall
In Prescott by the parking garage is this beautiful mural, which I have shown before. On this day it was in the shade so a bit easier to photograph.

The Swarm
My husband was sitting on the back patio when he heard something that sounded like a radio controlled aircraft but then saw a huge dark mass come over the fence. The bee swarm landed in our blue spruce tree and stayed for a few hours. Needless to say, I used a telephoto lens to get this quick shot and then went inside.

Early Spring
Some of our trees have decided to bloom a little early.
It will be below freezing for the next few nights but they seem to be doing OK so far.

Whoo Me?
I learned from my blogger friend at Oddball Observations that the Home Depot owls have three new babies already this year. I went there and found two young ones and one parent. I posted pictures of last year's babies on April 11th and they were smaller than these are so the pair got an early start on their family this year. Both of these picture are of the same baby.
I think they are Great Horned Owls
