Marmot



A Yellow Belly Marmot pauses before disappearing into his underground home. I have never seen a Marmot in our area. This one was in Utah. They are big for a rodent, about the size of a large cat and very shy around people, always on the lookout for a place to hide.

I don't think I've ever seen a marmot in the wild.

Looks like a big, furry rat! I've never seen one before. You got some wonderful shots here before he disappeared into that hole! I'd guess his teeth are quite sharp!

I have seen marmots in Colorado, but not Arizona.

Great job on this photo. I remember seeing these guys camping in northern California a long time ago.

Don't think I've ever seen one either but next time I'm in California I'll be on the lookout for them camping out! ☺

Yes, they certainly are "cute" but I'm not overly fond of rodents.
