Baby Mockingbird
This young mockingbird may have left the nest too soon. It couldn't fly yet and was taking cover under a shrub. The parents were watching over it and feeding it on the ground. I hope it survives to grow up and sing.
Oh, he IS adorable! I've had baby mockingbirds in my front yard several times. One time Loki, my white cat, had one cornered. The little guy was sure fiesty and I grabbed the cat and put him inside so that the parent could come rescue their little one. He was lucky. Others haven't been so lucky...sigh...

What a fantastic capture! Love it, Judy.
It looks like it will be able to fly soon.
It looks like it's testing those wings.
oh it will be okay. At my place I see it all the time. They are tough to survive.
It will be singing for you not too long to wait.
This is a superb photo! Wow! I also would hope it grows to sing loudly and clearly!
Love a little more detail on what lens you used here. Marvelous shot!
uh-oh. More work for Mom and Pop to keep it safe!

What a shot! No mocking bird over here... one more thing I am missing...
This is amazing - I love his little legs, too!
