Also known as 'Red Hot Poker', the scientific name of this plant is 'Kniphofia Uvaria'. The flowers bloom on top of 3 to 5 foot stems. Being a very hardy plant, in some areas, this plant has become invasive and is considered a weed.
Every time I see these flowers I think of those little orange and yellow Halloween candies.

These are wonderful. Never seen them before. Red Hot Poker is a perfect name. I thought of those candies, too! Must have grown up in the same era.
You're right; they look like corn candy!
I don't think I have seen these before. I also don't think that I will remember the scientific name.
oh candy like sure looks.
love those natural colors.
Thanks for sharing.
A very attractive weed.
It does remind you of that really awful candy corn.
Yep-candy corn on a stick! Probably not so good to eat, but very interesting to look at. ;-)
I love Red Hot Pokers.
Whaddaya mean, "awful candy corn"? I love that stuff. And I love this flower/weed. Don't think I ever saw it.
