Driving To Alaska...Whitehorse, Yukon

Continuing my weekend series, we have made it to Whitehorse, Yukon, the largest town we have been through in many miles. As you come into town, you can't miss the S.S. Klondike.

Now a National Historic site, this sternwheeler once ran freight along the Yukon River between Whitehorse and Dawson City from 1937 to 1950.

I liked this tall Canadian Mounted Policeman standing outside the High Country Inn in Whitehorse.

Those Mounties really do stand tall! The stern-wheeler reminds me of my beloved Mississippi.

It looks like there was a lot of interesting things to see in Whitehorse.

I gather you took this trip in the summer. Wintertime you might not have made it this far.

I love those old stemwheelers! There's a replica that used to play the waters of Disney World but I'm not sure that's still the case.

I'll bet you were glad to get to Whitehorse!

That Mountie looks too big for his boots! :)

Wow, you went pretty far up. Long days and short nights.
The policeman is pretty big but seems harmless.

That would be fun to explore.
