Owls

The Prescott Valley Home Depot garden center has been home to an Owl nest this spring. The pair had two owlets which have been growing fast and are now out of the nest but not flying yet.

This owlet still has it's baby fluff but was not in a spot where I could get a good shot.

I think they are Great Horned Owls.

I'm amazed! Owls are big hunters so I wonder what they hunt inside the store.

Can't imagine an owl making a nest inside the store - must be out in the garden area, right. Still. Great pics, though. One never knows when you'll need a camera. Love owls!

It'd definitely be in under the overhang of a garden area, I'd say. Terrific captures, particularly that first one. The owl looks quite serene in that moment.

Great pictures! I LOVE owls - so beautiful, yet silent & deadly hunters to the many small animals that populate our back treeline & the fields beyond. Oh, well... a bird has to make a living! ;-)
